Pensioners and families from all over Southport were in for some 'shock' news today - M&S had to close.
The reason - a power surge which saw the emergency generators deployed in the early hours; staff were placed at two entrances to turn customers away while the rear doors were shuttered over, too.
The store is hoping to open this afternoon, subject to an engineers' report; one thirsty couple from Ormskirk decided to travel to Booth's, Burscough for their mid week coffee together.

It's not as if this site has ever had particularly higher standards especially from Roger Blaxall.

Infantile drivel, he should stick to reporting the Ormskirk and District Darby & Joan newsletter.

The couple from Ormskirk couldn't have been that thirsty to drive to Booths for coffee, pity they weren't pointed in the direction of the plethora of local cafes.
