They must be doing something right at the new Fylde fish bar in Burscough which has been enjoying excellent trade since opening last Friday.
QLocal's Roger Blaxall took these pictures on Monday evening - both the takeaway and restaurant were busy until 8.30pm.
The luxury chippy is the latest addition to the popular Ringtail Retail Park.

Hope it improves from Saturday evening when the in laws got takeaway, the fish was small, dried out and tasteless and the chips were more of a mush.

Still pondering the words "luxury" and "chippy" appearing in the same sentence.

Don’t ponder for too long. It’s quite a simple concept. A child’s dictionary will probably help if you get really stuck.

The Swan for me any day of the week but - if travelling in Northumberland there is a little chippy in Hexham, by the street market opposite the Priory, which serves the best fish and chips I have ever eaten. Been there three times and each time the food has been out of this world.

My mum raves about the fish and chips at Fylde Road chippy, but i think its a load of crap as the take out portions are tiny and its expensive for what you get. We prefer Toms next to The Mount but i suppose when it comes down to it its personal preference/taste when talking about food.

Whether you like Fylde Rd chippy or any other is up to the individual, but see criticism regarding portion sizes, that is plain rubbish, never had small portions from there, not been in Mr Chips for ages as it went downhill ages ago and certainly didn't come close as regards portion sizes.

Portions are huge at Mr Chips and The Swan, yet once at Fylde Rd I got sausage and chips and when I got home there were 15 chips with the sausage !

Glad someone agrees with me! I cant eat a full portion of chips from a chippy but i begrudge paying over the odds for like you said 15 chips, how they win awards i will never know as lots more chippys better than them.
