Oh come on, how do you know the car hit the cycle?
Could have been the other way round.

Cars don't hit cyclists, drivers hit cyclists. Bloody **** reporting.

No - it's definitely the car that comes into contact and not the driver.

Cars without drivers don’t hit cyclists, they’re static obstacles. Physical contact is between vehicle and bike or rider, but let’s not remove the driver from the situation when there was obviously one there. Too many reports remove the other party from the situation.

You’re pathetic. I hope the young cyclist recovers from his serious injuries.

Well for now we need both, hope their both fine and we can all wait to find out what actually happened as either or neither could be at fault.I
As we all know cyclists and vehicles is a risky mix.

Similarly, there was also a rider present, let's not remove them from the 'situation'.

Maybe the cyclist hit the car as was the case in this instance. So you can all stop arguing and pontificating.

Is it something you witnessed? If so, I’m sure you’ve provided a statement to the Police?

The other site had a similar post with an image of the cycle on the pavement. The front wheel was badly twisted. The report is now showing 404 page not found. Seems like they pulled it for some reason.
@donkey22
My original comment was a reflection of the bias in reporting. The original report made no mention of serious injuries or that the injured party was a young person. Had I known this I would not have commented.
Little Londoner's post is intriguing. More info would be welcome.
