Our Lady of Lourdes Secondary School: The Class of 1959

I left OLOL Secondary School, in 1959 aged 15, and - to keep the brain active - I was trying to recall as many of my fellow pupils from my year as I could.
I haven't seen some since the day I left school.
Anyway, here's a go at some who came to mind. I love if other ex-pupils can add to the list. There would be probably 80 to 90 pupils in my year.

David Ackerman, Joey Murphy, Robin Kent, Mick Sullivan, Tony Lloyd, Kevin Moreton, Michael Howard, Eddie Duffy, Gerry Curtin, Peter Reynolds, Mick McGreavey, Ben Mackey, Colin Evans, Lindsay Lynch, Christine Culshaw, Cynthia Rimmer, .... Halfpenny (?) Margaret McCumisky...

I was thinking about ways to "trigger" the names of old fellow class/year mates.
One way is to create "memory categories".
For example, which class mates were good at sports?
Which class mates lived near you?
Which class mates did you fancy?
Which class mates were always getting into trouble?

BTW, "The Class of 59", will all be 70/71 yrs old now.

I've come up with seven more names: Joyce Tinsley, Peter Dunn, Frank Sellors, Paul Brennan, Tony Walker, Elaine Massam and Terry Connor.

Here are a few more names that have emerged from the mists of time.

Teresa Wilson, Richard Stoker, John McGhee, and George Merone

For a couple of years, before - I think - he went to the Tech ( Southport College ), one of my fellow class mates was David Halliwell who later became the Halliwell of "Halliwell and Jones" car dealers.

A girl across the road from us Pat Budworth, whom I knew well, went to OLOL during this era. Although probably before your time and would have left, at a guess, around 56/57.

Pat Budworth? The name certainly rings a bell, but I can't put a face to it.

I have dragged up yet another classmate: Brendan McDermot.

I just recalled another classmate: Tommy Becksmith.
If I remember correctly, Tommy had an older brother who had a business - central heating? -situated on Eastbank St bridge.

I was walking along Eastbank St - just crossing Talbot St -the other day when I remembered another pupil from my year.
    It was girl called O'Toole.
I can't recall her christian name which is rather strange because I thought she was great!

The trigger for the recall was the fact that her parents had a guest house/hotel along Talbot St.

I've just heard that Joey Murphy, a fellow OLOL pupil and friend, has died.

As a lad, Joey lived in Everton Road, Birkdale and when he left school he became a milkman.

I thought that was a really cool job, and wanted to do the same but my mother put her foot down and insisted that I get an office job!

Towards the end of his working life, Joey worked as a conductor on the railways.
