    Miss Speakman (teacher)

Does anyone remember Miss Speakman who taught at Our Lady's, Formby. about 1947-50? She then taught at Our Lady of Lourdes Birkdale,in the early 50s, but she was then married. Unfortunately I can't remember her married name.Any news?

Hi Blackdog, I seem to remember Miss Speakmans christian name was Shirley, but the name is a bit of a coincidence. I may have left it a bit late to get information. I would really like to have thanked her for the help she gave me in my early years of education. When you are young you don't think to say "thank you". Thanks for your input, Jackr.

Noooo No! Miss Speakman's first name was Celia. She died a few years back. Beryl was surely Mrs Bateman, the P E teacher. Shirley who though?,hmm. Wasn't Mrs Halsall, the Science teacher was it?

Thanks Gez. I thought I'd left it a bit late to say thanks to a teacher who made a difference.

Does anyone remember Mr Bentham? ... I don't!

He taught woodwork after Joe Ackers (Atkinson)

Can anyone tell me when Mr Bentham started his "sentence" at

    CTK?

I remember Joe Atkinson I can still smell the aroma of his pipe, also Miss Speakman English teacher famous for "Words ar important" Good old Peter Fay, Nigel Dixon, Miss Moran, Mr and Mrs (Basher) Barnes Mrs Flynn, Miss Roach, Ann DeLacey, Mr Groarch, (not sure how that's spelt) Mr Gomez, Mr Moran, Mr Gavin, Harry Rimmer (keep taking the tablets) and many more.
