The group of Travellers that have been camped on the Kew Park and Ride have now left. A massive clear up operation will have to take place as rubbish including gas bottles,bikes a rabbit hutch and vast quantities of garden waste have been dumped.

From the stench it would appear that chemical toilets have been emptied as well.

Disgrace! So all the people who have been getting them to cut their trees down now know where they have dumped it all. To be cleared at the expense of us Council tax payers.

Why aren't thier veh registrations noted whilst they are there so they can be traced and "PROSECUTED ". This is an absolute disgrace . Wake council, wake up police . For gods sake

Will UK be able to deport them back to Ireland after we're out of the EU. Let them SH*T on their own doorstep filthy scum! Surely the caravans and other vehicles can be loaded on to a Hercules and dropped in Irish territorial waters.

for gods sake this is the 21st century.....the police are very macho at stopping a poor person without a current mot/road tax but they wont go near travellers....these people cause chaos wherever they go,,,, police grow some balls and do your job, they are conning the feeble elderly in garden clearance/tarmacing/roof pointing etc, get the police in every traveller site and shake them down, start taking their dodgy vehicles caravans etc, they are a nightmare to every community

Yep saw them there this afternoon. Didn't count them though - I was concentrating on the road.!

I cannot substantiate the following since the information was obtained in a discussion from an ex-traveller who had contravened the traveller's laws so seriously he was barred from all traveller's camps.
The traveller's, who claim to be a minority - number approximately 11 million world wide. The majority of the travellers have fixed homes, but travel to obtain the money that they get. Many of the travellers claim benefits while at the same time run overseas businesses that were funded by the money made while travelling. They are not poor people - there are several new caravans and four by four cars on most sites. The travellers have their own laws, which apply ONLY within the encampment, and which are contradictory to National Laws. While it is a crime to steal and fight in the camp - it is not wrong to steal from, and fight with the 'gage' or local people. In fact any camp member who contributes to the financial site collection is congratulated. Local authorities are not recognised among the travellers, their own laws are those that they adhere to, any authority attempting to control them are ignored. These people have a life time habit of travelling around - but they do so for one purpose only.
As I said - I cannot support these statements, but if anyone needs more information it can be found by reading up on the Crays Hill Travellers in Essex - this does support much of the above and gives far more information.
