Why do Seftons Mayors wear different chains?

An eagle eyed resident has spotted that the Mayors of Sefton wear different Chains around their necks.

I am just wondering why for over a year the mayor has been wearing the deputy Mayors chain from Crosby!

Is this all because of Bootle labour?
Am sure the Mayor used to wear a Sefton chain to be fair!!

Why not wear our Southport chain!!
Or have they lost the Sefton gold chain?

Grumpy Gordon Brown sold the our gold at the rock bottom price so maybe Sefton Labour have done the same with our gold Mayoral chain.

Always amused by this type of comment...

First of all, we still have massive gold reserves, something like 17th largest in the world. Secondly, at the time it was seen as a decent move and other nations did similar, like the Swiss, Dutch and Belgians.
Tories/Lib-Dems now like to try to portray it through the prism of how gold rose in price after the crash years later... but that is just ridiculous. You can't judge it on the freak result of a worldwide recession that no-one was predicting years before when the gold was sold... but if you do want to play that silly sort of game, it was sold by Brown to reinvest in things like euros... so with the way things are going with Brexit it might yet turn out to be a fantastic deal!

And actually the Tories in '71 under Heath sold far more gold than Brown did.

I think they like a chains a lot, and that's why they wear different chains. If anyone out there has a better reason than the Gold Buyers Melbourne reason that I've given here, I would like to know. I don't think anything is better than this reason.
