Water levels in Three Pools are at record lows according local farmers and fishermen.
In some places the water is down to 18 inches deep. Fish are in danger of having little oxygen in the water.
Local farmers are under licence taking thousands of litres of water daily out of the watercourse to irrigate the fields of crops.
The levels are so low that fishing is impossible.
A farmer told Qlocal that if we do not get significant rain soon then there will be no water left to extract and the crops will suffer as a result.
