As 2018 is Sefton’s ‘Year of the Volunteer’, we think it’s only right to continue recognise our superb volunteers once again this season. That is why the Southport Football Club Volunteer of the Month award is back for the 2018/19 season!

Remember you can nominate someone by emailing the person’s name and a brief description of why they should be acknowledged by the club to volunteers@southportfc.net

Details
October – by Wednesday 31 October (announced Saturday 10 November against Guiseley)
November – by Friday 30 November (announced Saturday 1 December against Leamington)
The announcement of the winner each month will be made at the home games indicated above and will receive an M&S voucher from our partners, The County Group.

September’s Winner ,Anthony Gould.

One of the most committed volunteers at the club.

Previously volunteering his time as a match-day steward, towards the end of last season Anthony demonstrated a desire to extend his involvement with the club away from matches, helping the support team clean up and close the ground.

During pre-season he has spent more time at the ground during weekdays and is always keen to contribute in whatever way he can. Giving him a sense of focus, he has become a valuable part of the volunteer team performing a variety of manual tasks to make sure the ground refurbishment ran smoothly.

The club can rely on Anthony’s excellent contribution and for this feels it is only right to reward his efforts with this award. He will be formally presented with his trophy and voucher at the York City game next weekend, where the club also celebrates everything great about Non-League Football
