Mindless vandals have once again caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage in the Kings Gardens.

Glass has been smashed in the newly restored shelters and graffiti sprayed.
Despite increased police patrols and a private security firm the vandals are still not getting caught.

Anybody with information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,Lets not highlight the Graffiti Art as this usually encourages others to follow,in my view.

Perhaps the investment in CCTV would be worthwhile so these idiots can be caught and punished?

What is this obsession with 'mindless'?

You're supposed to be a writer - can't you think of anything else?

bring back hanging worst thing they ever did in my opinion it might deter these mindless sods or better still get them in the army for a couple of years

It seems to me that this private security firm are not doing their job very well. Kings Gardens is not a massive area to patrol.

Agree with the comment about the word "mindless" by the way. There's nothing "mindless" about vandalism. It is premeditated and intended to cause annoyance.

cant be that difficult to catch these retards...some secret cctv and then public display would do the trick...or is it job creation for the workers that repair the kings gardens?

Hahahaha....What with this area under scrutiny and this news item on this site:

'Taxi Marshals to make our town safer'

There are more security and Police patrols in Southport than anywhere else and the place is still trashed!

Funny how Hugh Evans from BID claimed there wasn't any trouble here.

Whilst CCTV may record the crime being committed would it really be much use in identifying the perpetrators when they'll undoubtedly be clad from head to toe in black in the dark.
Better to catch them in the act.

.Yes we agree,How can they be caught,

  12. jonnybgood says:29/11/2016 06:19 PM
The Police, and security firms should invest in some Heat/night vision glasses, then they could monitor these people from a fair distance away, way before they are detected, and then there may be some hope of catch them in these acts of vandalism.
Still see large groups of teenagers late evening, roaming around the town centre, which I thought were allegedly being broken up by the Police ? Obviously they are not doing what they said would happen, and make these teenagers leave the designated areas.

I feel very sad and very angry.
These pathetic mindless idiots should be caught named and shamed.

  14. greenmachine says:29/11/2016 09:34 PM
If they are ever caught they should be hounded to the grave, along with their parents for the total cost of putting right the damage caused, even if it means driving them into total poverty and then suicide, it would take maybe two generations before the low lives got the message that this behaviour will not be tolerated. I read the other day that a prisoner tops themselves every 3 days, so what? That saves the law abiding tax payer loads of money.

I still think it's time for a few big lads with big hairy alsatians to start walking their dogs late at night.
Should they happen upon these 'young adults' during their normal and peaceful enjoyment of the area, they could have a full and frank exchange of views with them.

In this situation they needn't feel themselves constrained by PACE or the Yooman Rights Act and be able to allow the course of natural justice to flow unencumbered.

  16. silver fox says:02/12/2016 09:24 AM
These morons probably feel they are achieving some sort of notoriety or status among their peers, the frightening thought is that in a few short years these zombies will be able to vote, although more than likely the process of casting a vote will be beyond their mental capacity.
