Mindless vandals have once again caused thousands of pounds of damage to the ornate stone walls in the Kings Gardens.
The Friends of Kings Gardens have released a statement.
We are gutted to find that more vandalism has taken place in Kings Gardens destroying part of its heritage.
We are a group of local volunteers that have campaigned to have the gardens restored and regularly organise events to ensure that the gardens are used by the community. However we need more local support to join us in being our eyes and ears volunteers reporting any vandalism or anti social behaviour. If we don't look after the gardens they will end up returning to the neglected mess they once were.
You can help us in the following ways.
If you live locally and see any vandalism or antisocial behaviour taking place please report to Merseyside Police.
If you can help us on our mission by reporting any problem, damage or assisting us with projects please contact our Community Development officer at Sefton Council 0151 934 2497 or parks@sefton.gov.uk
Thank you all for supporting our events and joining us on our mission to maintain Kings Gardens.
You may comment here but news always gets more discussion at our facebook.com/groups/southportnews

The trouble is even if these morons are caught what will happen a fine suspended sentence and told not be do it again, they need to be truly punished as they area waste of space and no use to society whatsoever.

It also shows poor quality workmanship as there is no way a group of kids should have been able to do this if the stones and lamp post were properly cemented down !
I would complain to the contractors that restored the gardens !

Considering the balustrades weren't touched during the restoration of the gardens I doubt you'll get much joy there.
You'll need a psychic medium if you want to complain about poor workmanship to the original builders.

[QUOTE=roving-eye;6571006]Mindless vandals have once again caused thousands of pounds of damage to the ornate stone walls in the Kings Gardens.
This is a very sad state of affairs after all the work that has been done in the Kings gardens. Unfortunately these halfwit yobs now know how to create this mayhem and will be back to do it again. Its time our local councillors and friends of Kings gardens arranged an open meeting for all, to discuss issues relating to this damage, and how to avoid it happening in the future. when the meeting is arranged, make a public announcement on here and in the local press. I think there will be a lot of local support on this issue, and i look forward to being involved.

So its the builders fault, why was it their children who damaged the balustrade ?
Then maybe its the fault of the council for not having night vision cameras, victim blaming avoids laying the blame at the feral youths who did it.
Remember its your rates that pays for this.

About (I think) 30 years ago we started behaving in a namby pamby way and basically treating criminal youth with a fresh new approach of "talk to them and see the inner being and understanding".
On the back of this, tens of thousands of do gooding social worker types created new roles, departments and quangos constantly updating new systems and ideas to self exist and protect their roles on the back of "human rights", some to date have massive pensions on this gravy express train.
The criminals being "helped by the system?" - some were sent on rehabilitating holidays and milked the system for all it had to offer, they soon learned that crime paid if you were not caught and punishment was rare if you were. They learned that the Police were not to 'be feared' anymore as they were 'vulnerable' now and untouchable.
These people have now bred - what you see now is a generation below that have parent(s) who from their conception will have never instilled any respect to the Police, teachers, authority of any kind - because they too have the knowledge of how the system can be 'worked'.
We have ourselves to blame.
Reverse it now and maybe in 30 years today's babies will be different.

Well with our impending departure from the EU looming ahead you may get your wish as we will no longer be obliged to keep the European human rights act. Bring back the birch and the judge's black cap.
I think a public flogging would suffice for these scumbag arseholes.
