Tonight the Port take on Curzon Ashton as in a crucial battle in the league campaign, 7:45pm KO.

These two sides will be familiar with each other as they came head-to-head a few weeks ago in the Emirates FA Cup.

It was the Sandgrounders who came out on top, claiming a 2-1 win which allowed them to continue their current cup run which is one of the positives this season.

Before that game Curzon, under manager John Flanagan, had been struggling as well in the league.

Their form had been mixed, with three wins in their opening 11, with goals in short supply stopping them from climbing any further up the table.

But a since the cup defeat against Southport, Curzon have rallied, producing two wins and a draw in the league since, putting them in tenth place and three points off the playoff places.

The gap between the pair was only five points the last time they met, now the Nash sit 12 higher.

When these two met last season the games ended 2-2 and 3-1 to Southport, with the points being even more vital this time round.
