A group of Travellers have set up camp on Princes Park. They have driven onto the Ocean Plaza then onto the footpath and knocked over a small wooden fence to gain entry.

Small children could be seen driving a transit van around the park.

If they’ve knocked over a fence to gain illegal access, surely that amounts to criminal damage and trespass. The Police should do their job and arrest every last one of them.

All their vehicles should be confiscated and taken to the Police pound where they can be returned to the owners after paying a massive fee!

They have caused damage and should be arrested for this alone. To allow underage children to drive a vehicle should also result in charges.

The same law should apply to these people just as it is for the rest of us. Equality being what it is!

Can anyone explain why there is never a penalty imposed after any of these invasions? On their last trip to Ferryside Lane playing fields they even left a derelict caravan behind and guess what - nothing was done. On the other hand, I read about a mother being prosecuted because unbeknownst to her, the child had dropped litter from the pram. Similarly, it seems that if Joe Public drops a cigarette butt, that is a heinous crime. The world has gone bonkers.
