Three vehicles were involved in an RTC on Meols Cop Road at 4.10 this afternoon. The emergency services were called and an Ambulance was on scene quickly and took several people to hospital for precautionary check ups.
Two members of the public then directed traffic around the scene of the crash for well over and hour before the Police finally turned up.

75 minutes to attend ,they were probably too busy monitoring the speed limits in the ridiculous 20 mph zones

Well Surely ,Its to do with ,no injuries reported, and Medics were on scene,so thankfully Police may have been advising us drivers about 20 limit on Fylde and Fleetwood roads, preventing our kids from being knocked down,
I feel this is good practice,
We await your reply.

I would applaud your optimism if I thought it constructive, though I think it's more simply to do with 'no officers available to attend anything'. This was the end of the afternoon of a nice day in Southport on one of the main roads out of town, and we all know how the traffic gets at such times. Officers -should- have been available well within half an hour to arrange recovery and control the traffic before somebody got frustrated and caused another accident.
They were lucky that members of the public could be bothered dealing with it off their own backs for that long.
