Southport Draw Farsley Celtic In Buildbase FA Trophy
Tie to be played 10th December away at Throstle Nest

Southport have been handed an away tie at Farsley Celtic in the first round proper of the Buildbase FA Trophy, with the game due to take place on Saturday 10th December at Throstle Nest, 3pm kick off.

After a 2-2 draw with Tamworth in the first leg in which Tamworth came from behind twice to force the replay, Farsley put four past Tamworth on Tuesday evening at The Lamb in front of 371 with a hat-trick from James Walshaw coupled with a second half goal from Richard Marshall.

This will be the first time Southport have played Farsley Celtic since the club disbanded and reformed in 2010 after financial difficulties. The club played as Farsley FC in the Northern Premier League Div 1 until 2015 when they were renamed to Farsley Celtic FC.

Winning clubs in the first round receive £5,000 with the final this year again being played at Wembley Stadium in a back-to-back finals day with the FA Vase on 21 May.
