Southport Piano Academy's huge congratulations to their student, Joshua Gadsby, who has been accepted into Chetham’s - the largest and one of the most prestigious music schools in the U.K.

Joshua, 13, is from Ainsdale and attends Birkdale High School.

Joshua began lessons as a beginner age 8, with Claire Kelly, owner of the Academy.

He achieved Grades 1-5 by the age of 12 with distinctions and merits, through his hard work with Claire. By then Joshua had decided that piano was his vocation and so for the past 9 months, Joe Bloom, their super talented teacher, has prepared him for his Chetham’s audition. Joe went there himself!

Joshua also has an amazing singing voice and has been having vocal training with our highly qualified singing teacher, Stewart Hankinson, who is a Master of music. His audition took place last week and he received this letter at the weekend, awarding him a place.

They are all so proud of him at Southport Piano Academy.

They say “team work makes the dream work!’ and this is a great example of that.
