Well, it's to be hoped that they can repair it more efficiently than the collapse outside the Dutch Bakery on Liverpool Road.

Over a 5 year period a collapse has been repaired more than 15 times, the repair work was shared between Sefton Council and United Utilities during this period.

I even had the temerity to suggest to Sefton, that the collapse was caused by a broken drain. The response from Sefton was that they'd received assurances from UU, that there was nothing wrong with the drains.

Last week UU completed a drain repair, again.

That job share statement is not correct - Sefton Council employ no pipe layers or groundworkers.

The statement is correct, Sefton are responsible for the maintenance of the highway, United Utilities, responsible for the maintenance of the sewers.

Where do I suggest that Sefton employ pipe layers or ground workers?

Correct, the repair work was shared between both parties, Sefton has a duty to maintain the highway, which they did and as in this incident kept repairing the highway every time the road subsided under emergency response procedures.

United Utilities carried out the repair (several times) to the sewer.

    Do you comprehend?

As I say, between them they attempted a repair in excess of 15 times.

I pay more for water than I did for council tax and water in the 80's. we should have the water in public hands. If I was in Government I would simply put the water in public hands and not give a penny to the private investor. After all what can they do.
