Two stabbed in a brutal Southport knife attack
Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault Sunday, 24 July in Southport.
Emergency services were called at around 4.15pm to reports two men had been assaulted in King Street.
Both men have been taken to hospital, suffering from slash wounds, one man with injuries to his arm, the other his neck and back.
The investigation is at a very early stage and the motive is unclear but detectives believe it to be a targeted incident.
The scene has been cordoned off for forensic examination, CCTV is being sought and inquiries carried out in the area.
Detectives would urge anyone who has any information about this incident to contact 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

He's right though. Look at the statistics and accept it instead of siding with the masses throwing stones in a huge glass house.
Example - in May 2016 (31 days) 672 reported crimes with Merseyside Police in JUST the area of Southport we had the pleasure of:
1) 192 cases of anti social behaviour
2) 16 bike thefts
3) 44 burglaries
4) 60 criminal attacks including arson
5) 13 drugs offences
6) 42 thefts
7) 1 possession of a weapon
8) 14 public order offences
9) 1 robbery
10) 43 shoplifting offences
11) 11 muggings
12) 47 vehicle crimes
13) 120 violence and sexual attacks
These are JUST May, the last one is pretty disgusting. And then of course all of this will be balanced off by locals deflecting the whole problem by worrying about cigarette stumps, street drinking, litter, travellers, traffic wardens, sefton council and the endless list of irrelevancies.
Food for thought the next time we worry about dodgy parking, speed bumps and people from Norris Green.
Same time in Bootle incidentally - 470 crimes. Bootle is evidently safer than Southport

well I have a shop in the immediate area, and the last 2yrs its become like an everyday jeramy kyle show, still it makes for an intresting day.junes the florist loses more flowers than she sells to our regular romantic lifters passing by, and you don't need to by weed ,theres enough fumes from the passers by to leave you relaxed enough to cope with the passing show that goes on!

Totally correct it's outrageous! The majority of the crime committed in this town is home grown, local people causing local crime.
Decent people need to report what they see to an individual officer and get 'his' collar number so 'he' is accountable. If 'he' won't take the info report 'him'. Not phoning some faceless 101 number where the information falls into the shredder.

The two figures hovering over Bootle represent a comparable size to that of Southport.
People have been saying for years it's a violent and antisocial place especially weekend nights but the locals insist on dismissing it and blaming everyone else.

Also your link shows an area that covers nearly to Ince Woods. Everyone and their dog knows that's not Bootle

Shocking news for a seaside Sunday afternoon.
The May crime stats are quite shocking, especially only 13 drug arrests, surely that evil counts for more crime than that.

Can you post where the facts came from that support your statement that "crime committed in this town is home grown, local people causing local crime". I have not seen anything in the stats that specifies where the offenders are born - but perhaps you can provide the evidence that supports this statement?

I think he is no different from anyone else on this forum, assumptions rule the day.
Ask any visitor or Traveller that passes through - they are blamed for most every crime known on here without evidence. It's a Southport thing
And no - I haven't any bloody evidence before you ask.

Like I say, indicative of this forum. countless threads over the years have been wall to wall conjecture and rumour - doesn't stop people posting the same old bull over and over in the hope it becomes true. Tis the way it is...
