Waverley Street in Southport remains cordoned off this morning following a serious assault.

A large pool of blood can be seen on the pavement along with a sleeping bag.

The person who was assaulted was taken to hospital.

Officers are guarding the scene until scientific support arrive to establish what has happened.

This town is like Dodge City perhaps moving to Stockbridge Village Halewood or Toxteth is in order.

Hope the lad recovers , The town centre is full of steroid taking teen muppets p#$$ed up n high on coke bouncing around pushing their chests out thinking they are the bollox.....the police need to show more of a presence and the late liscence needs scrapping, it would not suprise me if the local DOOR HINGES who call them selves door supervisors just stood there and watched the majority of them could not split a fight up in a nursary never mind a bar! alot has changed in the last 10-15 years in the southport club scene .
