Sefton Council increased its net income from parking charge last year by a whopping 20 per cent, the RAC have revealed. In 2015-2016, Sefton Council upped its income to £1,757,000 up from £1,478,000 the previous year. For the previous four years income had remained virtually static at around £1,400,000.
Sefton Councils parking income, concentrated mainly on charges levied in Southport, is an important subsidy to the Council's activities which would otherwise have to be paid for by higher Council Tax or a cutting of services. The Council ranks only 109th out of all car parking councils in England.

Where can I get a refund when I park in town?
I might reconsider using the town centre shops now that I can get a refund on parking.
Or is it that you couldn't find a photo of a Sefton ticket machine !
