The Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street is now rated as one of the worst places to stay in Southport.

The last 8 comments on Trip Advisor all only give the Hotel 1 star.

    1.Erm it’s cheap
We came here for a relaxing weekend away together before another busy week of nights. Erm, it’s cheap and yes, cheap. We are all for embracing that at times, places are noisy. But my god never was prepared for this!!!! The noise from the clubs went on until half 4/5 am. Before this just as we were dropping off to sleep at 3 am the fire alarm went off. Awake literally all nite, then dropped off for 5 mins then the fire alarm went off again at 7!!! Went to get a shower, it trickled water. Can’t wait to go to work fully refreshed after this weekend away

2.Do not stay- Loud, unsafe, smells, fire alarms at 3am!!
just awful Alarm went off twice 3am and 7am Room was hideously hot, could not leave windows open as they were sash and unsafe for young children Next to clubs and over pubs. Staff rude and do not care less

    3.Disgusting
Wouldn't board my dog here room was disgusting soiled bedding. Carpets filthy sraff unpleasant. I would recommend anyone who wants to stay here to look at the caravan park in Southport. I am disgusted overall that knowone even cared ie manager etc. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to a homeless person.

    4. Disgraceful Customer Service
Arrived early, altho advertised like many other issues not available was informed no early rooms, I requested where I could park to be informed there's only 25 spaces, explaining these where full I was told you'll have to find somewhere, altho also mentionedtheir sister hotel could be available was informed we do t k ow I requested if they could call to be informed No it's not our job !

After finding a car park which eventually cost me £16 I went to check in to be told sorry 3pm ???? Unbelievable I returned my case to the car boot furious, later when I spoke a Polish guy said what do you expect "this is England" the whole hotel is noisy, not to standard & an absolute waste of money,

I spoke to people who claim they'd booked a whole weekend with food for £59 far less than I'd paid for 1 night room only, the fire alarm went of midway thru the early hours & again about 7.30 ish, my stay was awful & ranks amongst the worst hotel I've stayed in in the last 50 years.

Disgraceful Customer services and a hotel chain that will not be seeing me again. Terrible, I do t think I've ever had to write such a daming report on any hotel worldwide.

5.Do not even think about going here.
Very tired hotel. At first glance driving up to the hotel it doesn't seem to look too bad. Looks are very deceiving. The room had no air conditioning and was very hot - steaming hot.

Managed to find a small window to open to try and get some air into the room, unfortunately the outside of the hotel is surrounded by bars. The bars are open until 4 am. The corridor to the room had a distinct odour of cannabis, might have been some new kind of cleaning product. We did not get a lot sleep and would easily say Not Value for money. We would definitely visit Southport again, just not here.

    6.Avoid this Hotel
Just back from 5 days in this hotel. It was awful, no bed changes, did not refresh towels. Beds clean, to start of holiday, room dirty as was toilet. Next to nightclub, noise was horrendous, was still going at 3.30am. Food was disgusting, cheapist of the cheap meats etc, was unedible, had to eat out. Coach party were all over 60yrs and this was not a suitable hotel to be housed in. This was not what we originally booked with holiday, changed to this one 3 days before we set off. Staff were very unfriendly, nobody spoke to you. Never, ever, again.

7.Hotel in need of major overhall
First room I was given smelt like a sewer it was disgusting. The second room was an improvement but the bathroom still smelt of drains. There was a notice in the bathroom stating that due to the position of the boilers , let the hot tap run for 10 minutes to get hot water, just as well we don't have a water shortage.

It was an extremely hot weekend but there was a fan to use but this had NO cover on the front to protect the blades. Health and safety none existent ! We paid for breakfast which was extremely poor both in choice and options available. This HOTEL is supposed to be 3 star I would struggle to give it one.

    8.Avoid at the weekend
Family with 2 children ,14 and 11, oh my god just avoid at the weekend , the noise from the clubs next to the hotel is horrific , one shut at 03.30 and the other a little later , I would of closed one of the double glazed Windows if it wasn't broken, no sleep what so ever. The rooms are very tired the paint is coming off nearly everything walls furniture etc. What else, spa , the guy running it was nice , however the ... Showers, lockers, benches , toilets, all broken... Don't waste your money , will never return. Shocking,

Have to agree. A couple of years back my wife and I revisited Southport. Having not been around for a while decided to have a look for accommodation at some hotels that we used to know well. Looked in at both the Brick and the POW. Walked straight out of both of them. Absolutely disgusting.

My point being this site only publicises the negative not the positive.

Those are the comments off Tripadvisor.

I can't understand why the Public Health haven't closed it down.

The wonders of the Britannia Hotel chain. Everything they manage seems to turn to crap. I always groan when they get their hands on a lovely old place like the Palace in Buxton as you know that they'll run it into the ground.

Simply because a clean tidy hotel offering edible food isn't or shouldn't be news.

People just like to whinger. There a lot of people who come back year after year so it's can't be that bad.
People have been slatting Ryanair for years yet he's the busiest
    airline.
These people who whinger probably have never been in the hotel.
