West Lancashire Conservative Councillor Sam Currie has called on Cllr Liz Savage to 'make her mind up' as to where she wishes to represent.
Yesterday, he told QLocal: "While Cllr Savage, who lives within the South Ribble constituency, jumps on every bandwagon going in Southport, she is in real danger of neglecting the West Lancashire residents who pay her allowances!
"If she wishes to represent Southport, then she would be well advised to stand down from her position on West Lancashire Borough Council allowing somebody who wants to see a better West Lancashire take her place.
"Her actions stink of political opportunism." Cllr. Currie said.
And Cllr. Savage, who has lost the last two general elections in Southport, was accused of bringing West Lancashire council into disrepute by Conservative leader Councillor David Westley
"What does this say to the people of West Lancashire and perhaps more importantly, the people of Ashurst in Skem. who she supposedly represents?
"If I was a Labour voter within West Lancashire I would be feeling very short changed seeing someone happily taking my tax money but spending more time in Southport.
"I call on Labour leader Cllr Moran to take decisive action and force Cllr Savage into deciding which area she wishes to represent."

Given that she doesn't represent Southport, either as a councillor or an MP, this seems a rather bizarre complaint... or is it just that she gives Damien Moore a tough time on twitter and has helped the Ovington Park campaigners that are so ruffling Tory feathers?

You are dead right there.
She is paid to represent Skelmersdale (despite living miles away in leafy Tarleton) but seems to have lost interest in doing that.
For instance when I did a Google search just now I could find no press report at all for "Liz Savage Skelmersdale" or "Liz Savage Ashurst" (Ashurst being the precise part of Skelmersdale that she is meant to represent).
Or maybe it's just that Skelmersdale doesn't have any problems that Labour councillors want to deal with.

Haha, Damien and his Lib Dem friends like Simon Shaw (I mean prasnee, sorry) are getting seriously worried that their "reign" appears to be drawing to a close. Their last throw of the dice is to engage in personal attacks via a proxy! Pathetic. I hope Liz carries on her effective campaigning, it's clearly got the Tories and Lib Dems rattled. Incidentally I would have thought if you live in Tarleton your main town would be Southport.

Also, given the complaint, doesn't it seem a bit odd that they have sent this to a Southport site? I suspect Tory Regional bods simply trying to stop Liz Savage from savaging their new MP here, shows they are rattled.

Being a councillor isn't a full time job. So long as she is devoting sufficient time to her duties as a councillor in Skem commensurate with the allowance paid then what she does elsewhere is surely irrelevant.
There's a Southport Lib Dem councillor who recently claimed to work 16 hours a day every day in his full time job - that wouldn't leave much time for his constituents.

Aye, often am, unlike yourself... and again judging from your comment we seem to have another local rattled politician, most amusing.
BTW, you seem to have gone very quiet on the Ovington Park story, that because you Lib-Dems have been thoroughly shown up on it?

Hang on ... wasn't the entire point of her election campaign the fact that she lives in Southport and stands for Southport. She has never lived in Southport and grew up in Ormskirk.
She lives in West Lancashire and represents an area in Skem !! Did she tell the people of Skem that she lives there too, understands their needs and that she will be their voice also ? She has been a West Lancs councillor since 2011 and was even the mayor of West Lancashire for a time.
Surely Southport Labour would do better with one of the actual Southport representatives at its head ?? That way their key election message might actually mean something.

On the basis that my judgement is that Southport residents are quite able to see precisely what the Labour Party is up to, based on the repeated press statements that the Labour Party puts out, it doesn't need me to point it out.

You need to go to the residents' campaign page then... you will see exactly what the residents' group are saying, which is exactly what is in the other article on the subject today... that they want the nearly six years worth of wards funds that the Lib-Dems sitting on released to help save the park and the Lib-Dem ward councillors to stop the "misleading" information. Information such as claiming that no decision can be made until it goes to Area Committee, completely untrue, as the Director of Legal Services has confirmed.
The Kew Ward councillors need to release the funds before the whole of Southport sees just what they are up to.
