As people rush around doing their Christmas shopping three rough sleepers have bedded themselves down for the night outside Sainsburys on Lord Street in Southport.
Many shoppers were oblivious to the plight of these poor people preparing for another cold and dangerous night on the towns streets.
Sefton Council offer the following advice...
Sefton Council has a range of services for rough sleepers throughout the borough which are available all year round.
Services are at hand as we to try and reduce the number of people sleeping rough in Sefton.
If you see anyone sleeping rough or have any concerns about someone on the street, please get in touch. This is especially important during the cold winter months.
To report an incident of rough sleeping in Sefton please call the Rough Sleeper Outreach Team via Light for Life on 01704 501256 or 07918 746042 outside normal office hours and weekends.
Alternatively, email housing.options@sefton.gov.uk and provide details of the location and any description of the person. We will acknowledge your email and give you a response to your report.
No-one needs to sleep rough and services are available including a ‘sit up’ service providing an overnight room at hostels in Southport and Bootle if needed.

That's what hacks me off, constant pictures of homeless people, I know they are trying to raise awareness but these pictures aren't necessary, bet they didn't buy them a coffee or food!!

Please stop playing the blame game. There is help out there for those who
ask but there are a number who actually choose to live rough.
Its not got an awful lot to do with government ,we can't just carry on just giving
to every part of society.

Actually it has got a lot to do with government, this government has created the conditions which have contributed or lead directly to most of the poverty we see, austerity hits those with little, hardest.
