This July 23rd, join us for a resurrection in the park. Dance the day away and celebrate the lives of 5 of histories musical icons. Everybody who grew up in the 80’s surely still turns the volume up on the radio if ’Purple rain’ or ‘Radio Gag’ comes on.
Steven who runs the popular Go Commando Fitness activity centre and successful Santas enchanted forest told Qlocal “I have been to see many tribute acts and I have had a great time, whether it has been with friends with a couple of beers or with my 9 year old son and a coke we have always had an amazing time.
After the recent news of David Bowie and Prince, I have decided to bring all these greats together for 1 day in Southport. Not only because I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a summers day but to rejoice and celebrate the music they made by dancing the day away”
We have organized so many events for children over the years that we thought it only fair to lay on a day to remember for the grownups. Steven says “ I myself am an 80’s music fanatic and love nothing more than to blast out some 80’s music on a sunny day. There are some serious musical geniuses who have passed away within our lifetime and we are not forgetting them in anyway. We could only pick from 5 and we felt that Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Prince would be the crowd’s favourites”
“ A Prince tribute will headline the show complete with a 5 piece band and dancers. As a huge fan of these icons I have spent weeks finding tribute acts that will do them justice. There are many out there who look great, or move great, I was adamant they had to sing with their own voices and sound great. We have the Michael Jackson from the Legends tour, an award winning Elvis and a Prince who will have you questioning whether we have actually resurrected him (see attached video) All the acts all amazing and full of energy and Victoria park is a fantastic location to hold this event. I feel it’s a shame that more events like this aren’t organized in Southport. We have some great parks to host such days and some great restaurants and hotels for those travelling from out of the town”.
There will be a mobile bar company providing refreshments and limited VIP boxes including table and chairs (up to 10 people) waitress service for the bar and a complimentary bottle of Grey goose and mixers. The gates will open at 1400 with the first act starting at 1430. Tickets are priced at £20 for the remainder of May. The normal price of tickets is £25.
