Merseyside Police officers are continuing to ask the public for their help in identifying anyone that caused damage to the Manchester City bus on 4th April before the match.

Although no one on the coach or any members of the public were injured during the incident, two officers sustained cuts and swelling after one was struck by an object and another suffered glass cut injures.

Detective Chief inspector Phil Mahon said: “I’m pleased and really do praise our officers for putting themselves in harm’s way to protect the public on a daily basis. It is pleasing to hear that nobody else was seriously injured but I’m still deeply concerned that a number of people completely disregarded the safety of themselves and others by partaking in this criminal behaviour.

"This was intended to be a celebratory event but sadly those who chose to throw bottles, cans and pyrotechnics have managed to ruin it for the majority of law abiding fans. Their actions will not be tolerated by us and should not be tolerated by you either. Therefore, we’re asking the public to come forward with any footage so we can find those responsible and put them before the courts.

"Along with reviewing CCTV and our own body worn video footage, we desperately need anyone that filmed this behaviour to submit their footage to our dedicated investigation team via: team.coach.incident@merseyside.pnn.police.uk. Alternatively, if you didn’t film the event but you think you know someone who could have been responsible for some of the damage, then please get in touch by either calling 101 or reporting via our social media desk: @MerPolCC.

“If you’d prefer to remain anonymous, you can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or submit footage via their online form at: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-in...on-online/.”
