Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man we’d like to speak to in connection with a burglary from The Royal Clifton Hotel, Southport.

At around 6.30am on the 21st February 2018, a man is reported to have entered the hotel, where he spent 2 hours scoping the premises, eating breakfast and targeting the victim's rooms after watching them leave.

Inspector Susan Stribling said: “During a 2 hour period spent inside the hotel, the man has accessed various floors, had the audacity to enjoy his breakfast in the hotel restaurant using the victims room number and then went on to steal £645 and a number of bank cards from 2 of the guests hotel rooms.

“We believe that this man could be a travelling around the area and would appreciate anyone with information to come forward so we can stop him from committing any further burglaries.

How did he get in to the rooms, most hotels have key card access these days.
