This week saw a break in league action in both Divisions as our new innovation
continued as this particular week was set aside for matches played in the Le Rose Cup 2nd Round. It saw just three matches played to reduce the number of teams to eight for the quarter-finals.


Le Rose Cup 2nd Round

The first match played was an absolute cracker as it saw Farmers Club prevail by the narrowest of margins as they beat their opponents, Crosby Village SC, receiving a massive sixty five point per frame start, 3-2 as that deciding play-off frame was required. It was Karl Prescott who saw his team over the line and it sealed them a place in the quarter-final draw.

The only all First Division clash saw Stanley Club A ease into the second round hat with a comfortable 3-1 victory at the expense of Aughton Institute A who were in receipt of a six point-a-frame start from the Burscough outfit. This success saw them into the last eight of the competition.

The other match played saw Division One, Skelmersdale Wardens A produce an excellent performance as they defeated Second Division, Aughton Institute D 3-1 were the Skelmersdale Wardens side were giving the Aughton D team thirteen points a frame advantage to progress to the next round

The following five sides in Quarry Green TAC, St Cuthberts, Maghull RBL A, Skelmersdale Wardens C & Aughton Institute C all received byes into the last eight draw.
