Merseyside Police detained 43 people on day two of Operation Hunted – bringing the total number of outstanding offenders detained to 116.

Merseyside Police is putting the pressure on most wanted individuals during three weeks of action.

‘Operation Hunted’, which launched Monday is aimed at reducing the number of outstanding named offenders on Merseyside wanted for various offences, including those who may have been involved in serious crimes, are linked evidentially to live investigations, or have breached the terms of their release from prison.

Yesterday 73 people were detained. Today’s detainees include a 27 year-old man who has been wanted for burglary since December 2017.

Local policing teams will be taking to their local Twitter accounts using the hashtag #OpHunted to update communities on any arrests as well as encouraging the public to come forward with information.

The operation will involve local police officers and PCSOs, detectives, Roads Policing units, specialist search teams, the Cannabis Dismantling Team, and Matrix officers.
