After the recent invasion of Southport by the "Travellers" and their total disregard for any laws and regulations especially when taking over car parks and not being ticketed by our ever vigilant parking wardens life is back to normal now as the wardens are out in force.

Dunes Splashworld car park two Saturdays ago ... bring your caravan and transit van and dump it anywhere and nobody bothers.

me and the missus fell out over this last week , a bus trip was booked from Southport , I refused to leave the car all day in Southport because of the parking , how can they justify £6 on the p & R when its normally £2 !!!! , so we needed a lift , now the wife wont book a bus trip from Southport ... result .

You could have parked one one of the Town Centre car parks all day for a lot less than that.

Why wouldn't the travellers continue to come when the council pursues a corrupt path of least resistance abdicating their responsibility to treat everyone equally just because its sometimes harder..

The message is clear if you are a bully a law breaker and an environmental vandal come to Sefton and stop where you like.

Why aren't the local greens out campaigning about these polluting parasites ?

What about the Local Labour Party why are they silent ?

The Conservatives nationally have left a legal vacuum why ?

Ok another way to look at this problem. The Council could fine the Travellers but why? The Travellers wont pay, no chance, no way! The Council then spends a lot more of the Tax payers money {your money} chasing these Low lifes. Even if they paid up the money recouped wouldn't cover the cost of chasing them for it.
It's almost guaranteed that a Parking Attendant would be assaulted while carrying out their duties & based on my experience with the Parking services the Attendant would be left on their own with minimal back up if any resulting in needing to sue their employer to cover their time off work. More money that will make it's way out of the Councils pockets.
A parking ticket wont make one jot of a difference to the Travellers. Impound their vehicles, tow their Caravans to a site & keep them there until they pay. Imprison them if they refuse to pay.
My view on life is you should be able to live as you like as long as the way you live doesn't effect others. This is not how the Travellers live so they must not be allowed to stop on Land that they don't own or hasn't been put to one side for them. They must be removed as soon as the man power can be gathered to remove them & every single piece of rubbish must be removed by the travellers before they are evicted.
Good luck with that though! Given our Laws of pandering I doubt that that will ever happen?

No chance of anything happening as they will just claim their "human rights" are being infringed. I thought human rights were to protect humans not dirty filthy thieving scum, just read todays national press Prison Officers are not cracking down on radicalisation because they are frightened of upsetting Muslims. I thought (don't laugh at my naivety) prison was a punishment to correct the criminals. But thanks to all the bloody do gooders in this country scum rule. You can't say this you can't say that you can't decide who you wish to have in your home if you have a B&B, you can't chastise little Noah or Britney-Chenisse when they are screaming the supermarket down with temper. What a lovely place to live we might as well all **** off to a deserted Greek Island and pontificate on here about what is right and wrong in THIS Country.
