Burscough's popular Bull and Dog is set to reopen soon after leading pub company, Punch completes a major investment of £280k.

It closed earlier this month whilst a refurbishment was carried out; the new look pub - which opens on 4 May - has been re-designed to promote a warm, relaxed, 'home from home' feel for customers to enjoy with a focus on its local heritage and people within the community.

New publicans, Sabrina and Richie Tedford are from the Scott estate and well known in Ormskirk - their two sons Billy and Tommy were already working at the pub when they made the decision to take the opportunity and for them, running the Bull and Dog is a real family affair.

The couple are introducing a new menu to be delivered by their nephew, qualified chef Chris of traditional pub food, catering for everyone.

Sabrina, Richie and their team are excited about the reopening: “The pub is starting to look fantastic, the transformation is incredible.

"The investment has given the pub a new lease of life allowing us to cater for events all year round.

"We are very much looking forward to the reopening and welcoming family, friends, customers new and old to come back and take a look at their new pub”

Punch Taverns’ Partnership Development Manager, Tony Riley, is also looking forward to the launch, telling QLocal this morning: "It’s great that Punch can invest in our pubs and we essentially want to reposition the Bull and Dog so that it really becomes the hub of the community whilst leading the way in providing the best food and drink offer in the area.
