It has been announced that there will no display by the RAF Typhoon at the 2018 Southport Air Show and there will only be one display from the Red Arrows and that will be on the Friday evening.
Last year just over 30,000 people attended the three day event.
The attendance details for the 2017 Air Show was 30,559 (this does not include spectators who viewed from outside the site boundary nor spectators who entered the event site for
).
Confirmed aircraft displays.

At this rate, in a few years it'll be a Chipmunk flypast and someone flying a kite.

That is just "Plane" stupid taking out yet another one of the favourite aircraft that people like to hear and see in the "Airshow",plus other planes that are now grounded, and unable to be flown, and only having one showing of the peoples other favourites the Red Arrows.
The way things are going spectators will NOT bother coming to the Southport Airshow in their thousands,as this could probably be the Death Nell for future airshows in a couple more years.Which will be a blessing,as spectators won't be getting ripped off for over priced parking,on the beach,or other car parking areas, and also the extortionate prices of the vendors on site, who rip off the customers inside the fenced off area of the grounds when the Airshow is on if the paying public require some form of refreshments during the show.

Quite right - whilst Joe Public are craning their necks and gawking at the nice aeroplanes they aint spending so - less aircraft = more pester power to go and buy x y z or a hot/lukewarm drink to take the edge off the chill.
