just accept the town centre is doomed,,,,this is a half arced token gesture that is pathetic...visit the small towns in france to see how christmas is done properly..trees with lights candles choirs,,even red carpets on the pedestrian alleyways with plentifull free unlimited parking, families everywhere....luckily not many will see our bunch of lights as no one goes into the town after dark unless you are passing on the way to morrisons or to pick up your drugs at the promenade...meanwhile out of town shopping is booming with the car parks full,,,the present strategy is killing our town,,,,how long do you have to persist with this?? wait till its all charity and betting shops...bring back the cars with the money and families,,thousands of free unlimited parking places in the centre, open up the pedestrianised roads/empty plazas in front of the town hall sainsburys vincents etc to cars with parking only,,put it back to how it was, it worked,,it was congested but thats the point!

well its different not disastrous, but for me am aint agreat fan of xmas .prefer new year and samhain!.but if its xmas well am more your gottta be traditional.a great touch would have been one of each trees, bit of ying and yang!.that said ,sadly this years going to be the nail in southports coffin ,despite these efforts, theres so many retailers and buissness owners ready to go,this years seen a more rapid slide for many, and moral amongst most players is pretty low.even the consumers arnt upbeat either.so lets see come new year ,wether this tree digitises the tastebuds with fruit!

I hope that they got paid well for their efforts - that thing should have been left on top of the church, which one has lost its spire? It is ugly in the daylight, almost a carbon copy of that one in Liverpool City - what is wrong with a natural Christmas tree, that look nice, day or night - have we run out of them? I blame Brexit!
A similar tree was erected in Poole, Dorset - people were so disgusted and it was vandalised so that the council were forced to put up a natural tree.
