Merseyside Police have issued a weather warning along with the Met Office.

@metofficeUK have issued a yellow warning for high winds affecting the north west from the early hours of Friday morning, through to Sunday evening. Winds of up to 30mph are expected with occasional gusts of up to 80mph.

High winds can be cause high demand for the emergency services. Please take warnings like this seriously and consider ways to reduce risk to yourselves and others.

Secure wheely bins, crates and other loose garden furniture to prevent it from being blow into traffic. Pedestrian's should remain alert to flying debris. Cyclists and motorcyclists should avoid travel where possible. Drivers should stay alert and take care on coastal roads and the Formby Bypass. Drivers of high sided vehicles should take extra care.
