Southport’s seniors will enjoy everything from 'chair yoga' and meditation to free hearing tests from SpecSavers at an upcoming fair hosted by MP Damien Moore.
Nearly thirty organisations are manning stalls - including Age UK, Formby Hall Golf Resort, and the Pension Advisory Service. Barclays will demonstrate how to avoid scams, and Energy for Life are teaching yoga and meditation.
Others involved include U3A, which creates learning opportunities for older people, as well as Sefton Opera and the Southport Bowling Club.
‘We are home to tens of thousands of people aged 65 and over', says Damien. 'They contribute to our town in countless ways.
‘Nevertheless, our senior citizens face challenges. They are also looking for fresh opportunities and want to learn new skills. We want this fair to offer them advice, support - and new horizons.

My wife recieved a personal invite to this publicity, photo op on House of Commons, prepaid stationary, what a total waste.
I didn't get one, perhaps he knows I wouldn't be the most suitable for his pr target.
