Qlocal has been contacted by several people and businesses on Lord Street about the organ player who has recently arrived.

The man and wife team set up outside empty shops and then play for hours on end.

All the music he plays is christian hymns.

    A local business owner commented...
He’s been repeatedly asked to move but refuses and has even got aggressive with the Police who have also politely asked him to move on.

Seems both Police and Council are powerless to move him but he’s creating a massive disturbance for those of us working in local businesses.

The organ player and his wife say they are doing Gods work by playing the music and will continue to do so.

Not doing any harm. What's the problem? It's a Christian country isn't it?
Maybe the bandstand would be a more appropriate location for them?

It is begging - pure & simple!

It looks like the property he is in front of is unoccupied..... So he can't be causing too much interference.

BTW … He has a Nice Smile :)

What gives you reason to think that they aren't?

I'm pretty sure buskers need a licence from Sefton, and are restricted in the time and places they can play ?

With all due respect for the licensed musician's who play instruments or sing on the streets, this particular duo appear to only play constant funereal music. (Is the guy an undertaker by any chance?)

Surely, if this duo is bringing the voice of God onto our streets, it should be a far more joyous event than the death throws he keeps playing.

I would not mind Gospel music, even the church hymns have more joy to them - it is totally depressing to have to listen as you try to rush by.

He's playing "The King of Love My Shepherd Is" in the video. Hymns don't come much more hymn-ey than that.

Can't see the problem. He's playing Christian music outside one of the multiple empty shops on Lord St. Nice to see at least some of our incomers embracing our culture. Good luck to him.

What did he say when you complained to him his music was funer-eal and he should liven it up a bit ?

It's no worse than some of the stuff you listen to on X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.
