Knife wands introduced to Southport Police after MP secures funding.

I recently asked Merseyside Police to introduce 'knife wands' in Southport, with funding provided by the Home Office. These have now been disseminated across the town.The trend in knife crime worries me, and we need to be vigilant.

The MP did not secure the funding, or have anything to do with the knife wands decision... Sefton Cllr Trish Hardy made the decision to fund them via her position as Chair of Sefton Safer Communities Partnership... Damien Moore was directly called out on this when he tweeted about it, trying to grab the limelight that doesn't belong to him. These should not be funded from Public Funds, they should be part of the standard equipment of the companies manning the doors.
