On the 12th of May, A-Level Music Students at King George V College performed their Spring Concert to a busy theatre in the College’s new Creative Arts Building.

This annual event allows A-Level Music students and those who partake in the College music enrichment programme the opportunity to perform in front of an audience.

Chris Burridge, King George V College’s Course Leader for Music, said, “The concert was a resounding success, showcasing our students’ fantastic musical abilities and commitment to their studies.”

“They have worked diligently in their groups and I am very proud of all of them.”

The evening featured performances from Sian Kemp-Ellis, Imogen Faux, Chris Williams, Gilbert Tyrer, Christopher Stoops, Robyn Flannery, Sarah Cunningham, Mark Jump, Emma Jervis, Kiaya Pedder, Jay McAdam, Robert Bentham, Sarah Walker, David Warren, Jessica Somaiya.

Students covered songs from a wide variety of artists such as Amy Winehouse, Einaudi, and a composition from the Pirates of the Caribbean film soundtrack, in addition to performing their own compositions.

Mark Jump, an A-Level Music Student, said, “It was a great experience, for me personally, to be able to both perform with and watch my fellow students on stage.”

“There was a lot of talent on display; it was certainly a night to remember.”
