High rents force The Plant Academy from Southport Market.

I've been putting off writing this post but I'd be really glad if you all read our latest blog post by clicking on the link below.

It explains why The Plant Academy is leaving Southport Indoor Market. Saturday April 21st will be our final day trading here.

We are so sad to announce this, and the full reasons are explained in the post. But in short, our rent if we stay is over £17,000 a year which we feel is too high of Sefton Council to charge for a stall in the indoor market. I have also been struggling a lot, as I have shared with many of you, due to my PMDD and running a business as demanding as this has had me suffering worse than ever.

The Plant Academy has not failed, nor are we saying goodbye forever. We have achieved so much this year and the cafe has been very successful. We are leaving the market, and looking forward with positive minds about how we can achieve even more with The Plant Academy in the future.

Me and the real boss of The Plant Academy (my little poodle, Peanut) would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone for the amazing support over the past couple of days. I'm totally overwhelmed by the massive response to our last post and our blog post. Hundreds of you contacted me online and so many of you have come in to wish us well and say you'll miss us. I'LL MISS YOU TOO! Seriously you guys are why I do this. I have loved every second of meeting and getting to know you all. Having such loyal customers is never something I experienced in my many previous jobs in hospitality and I feel completely blessed to have found a community of like minded people in Southport. We are still open next week and our last day will be Saturday 21st.
