Jeremy Hunt the Health Secretary will visit Southport and Formby district hospital tomorrow.
The Southport Labour Party are encouraging its members to go and Greet Mr Hunt when he arrives.
Jeremy Hunt recently praised Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust for “exceptional improvement” in the first three months of the year.
Today ahead of the visit by Mr Hunt the Trust Suspended its medical director.
Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust today excluded from work the Executive Medical Director.
The exclusion follows an independent review of culture at the Trust led by Prof Surinder Sharma, of Leicester University. The Trust commissioned the review following concerns raised by staff with Care Quality Commission inspectors.
The Executive Medical Director will remain excluded while an independently-led preliminary situational analysis takes place in line with the Trust policy.
Exclusion from work is not a disciplinary sanction but is a neutral action pending the completion of a preliminary situational analysis.
Richard Fraser, Chairman of the Trust, said: “The Trust expects the preliminary situational analysis to be completed promptly while, at the same time, ensuring the best interests of all parties are fairly served.
“I want to assure staff, patients, their families and the public that no aspect of the concerns raised relates to issues of patient care or safety.
“As this is an employment matter, there will be no further comment from the Trust while the preliminary situational analysis takes place.”
The Trust will confirm tomorrow (Tuesday) the interim Executive Medical Director and Responsible Officer arrangements.
Perhaps Hunt would like to explain WHY Private Hospitals are saving £Millions due to tax breaks given to them by (at a guess Hunt and Hammond) our caring Government. When the NHS Hospitals have to pay their FULL share of tax. Will he appear in shirt sleeves with his tie tucked inside his shirt looking like he is doing something other than WRECK the NHS.

There is a lot of money wasted on faux charities - there should be a complete overhaul of the vast amounts of money awarded to so called 'charities' Many of which are just businesses - Just as the Private Healthcare is.

The NHS paying tax? What activities do you believe they are undertaking that generate an NHS profit/income and so causes a tax liability?

Perhaps Mr Jeremy Hunt Heath Secretary would like to explain why the Parry and co debacle is still dragging on costing hundreds of thousands of hospital funds and taxpayers money with no explanation from the stitched lips of the hospital management.
Furthermore we now have the Executive Medical Director Dr Rob Gillies put on gardening leave, again on full pay. Why? In industry where I was employed, if one broke the rules you were warned twice and then dismissed. If you were dissatisfied with this situation to was for you to make representations to an industrial tribunal at your own cost. Why therefore is it different in the NHS?

Will all the vocal Tory supporters on here be popping down to cheer him on?
You know, the ones who decried the turn out for Jeremy Corbyn as a couple of hundred.
