The Green Party have announced they will have candidates standing for election in all of the Southport Constituency wards in the Sefton Council elections on May 3rd.

Sefton Green Party co-ordinator Mike Carter appealed for voters to look at the impact Green councillors have had around the country and said that having even one Green on Sefton council would change everything..

Mike added: “Local green councillors throughout the country have been at the forefront of working for communities wherever they are elected, whether it is protecting greenbelt land, parks, playgrounds and trees or standing on the front line against fracking and animal cruelty.

“You can be sure that other party candidates will simply toe the party line but a Green councillor – even just one - makes a massive difference to the communities they serve.”

The Green candidates standing for election in Southport on May 3rd are:

Barbara Dutton (Ainsdale), David Collins (Birkdale), Carla Fox (Cambridge), Nick Senior (Dukes), Robert Doyle (Kew), Alwynne Cartmell (Meols), David McIntosh (Norwood)
