Last month's Rainbow House Glitter Ball held in the Ambassador Suite at Formby Hall Golf Resort and Spa raised over £24,600 for the charity.

The annual event was organised by Lisa and Paul Maddison, whose daughter Katie has attended conductive education at Rainbow House since she was 18months old and has made tremendous progress with their help.

After enjoying a welcome drink on arrival, guests sat down to a three course dinner followed by live entertainment from Make Noise Choir and a stunning performance from the Glitter Boys – thirteen brave men who accepted a crazy challenge and formed a dance troup to raise further funds.

None were experienced dancers but, with the expert tuition of dance teacher Emma Lippitt, Lisa’s niece, they delighted the audience.

Guests could also bid for some fabulous prizes in the auction which included a stunning piece of artwork donated by local artist Clare Wright, a city mini-break, a Tommy Fleetwood signed shirt, tickets to the forthcoming Bellew vs Usyk boxing match, a 4-ball voucher at Hillside Golf Club, a teeth whitening voucher and a collection of fine wines.

Auction and raffle prizes were donated by HSBC, JD Sports, Pall Mall Dental as well as friends and family and HSBC continued their commitment to supporting Rainbow House with match funding for the event.

Lisa Maddison said, “we would like to say a huge thank to everyone who supported the event and especially the Glitter boys for their commitment to a crazy challenge – they were fantastic.”

Ben Blackman, Chief Executive, Rainbow House, said, “Lisa’s Ball is always one of the highlights of the year and this year was bigger and better than ever. The funds raised are absolutely fabulous and the fun and positivity on the night was something just as special.

"We cannot thank Lisa and Paul Maddison enough and all the guests and supporters and, in particular, the Glitter Boys who raised over £5,250 alone towards the total and with such style. They really were fantastic and have set the bar worryingly high for future years!”
