Southport Football Club’s Emirates FA Cup journey begins with a Second Round Qualifying tie in West Yorkshire next weekend.

If the match is drawn after 90-minutes there will be a replay at the Merseyrail Community Stadium on Tuesday 25 September (7:45pm), meaning the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy tie at Holker Old Boys will be postponed.

The Third Round Qualifying date is earmarked for Saturday 6 October, 3pm.

Admission to Throstle Nest is by cash payment at the turnstiles only, which are located at the main entrance to the ground adjacent to the club car park.

The turnstiles open at 1.30pm and as it is a cup competition it is all pay, including Season Ticket holders.

Official match day programmes (The Celts) are available from inside the ground at £2 and at the club shop (opens at 2pm where team sheets are available too).

Pre Match
The clubhouse at the Throstle Nest is open from 11.30am, serving hot and cold food and drinks with live televised football on the big screens in the bar.

There are also a large selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic options including hand pulled real ale.

Please note, customers are not permitted to take alcoholic drinks from the bar area on the terraces as this is an FA Cup competition.

Seating & Standing
500 seats are available in the main stand at the ground. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Standing is available in all other areas of the ground. Covered standing is available behind the goal at the entrance end of Throstle Nest.

Toilets are located next to the main stand and there are alternative facilities within the club house.

Getting There
The club postcode is LS28 5BE. This postcode will take you directly to the ground.

Car Parking: There is a large car park located at the main entrance of the ground. Car parking is free to all supporters on match days. Please avoid parking on the streets around the ground.

Coach Parking: Coaches of visiting teams will also be parked in the main club car park in a reserved space.

By Train: Please note that there is Northern Rail strike taking place so check with the company before travelling.

New Pudsey station, on the Cross-Pennine Line, is a fifteen-minute walk away from Throstle Nest. When leaving the station follow the station road to the junction and turn right. Pass the police station on the left and continue for around 500 yards until you reach New Street (the junction cornered by “Go Outdoors”) and turn left. Turn right at Newlands which is approximately 300 yards (signposted to Farsley AFC). Throstle Nest is situated at the end of Newlands.
Trains leave Leeds City Station and Bradford Interchange approximately every 15 minutes.
Trains from Bradford take 8 minutes and from 11 minutes from Leeds.
By Bus: Farsley is situated on a number of bus routes.

From Leeds or Bradford, the 508 and 72 all stop at “Go Outdoors” on Stanningley Road (see above for directions to the ground).
