visited St. Patrick’s in Southport as he continued his tour of the constituencies primary and secondary schools.
The primary school is performing above target and is now attended by over 350 pupils. In 2013, the school was rated as ‘outstanding’ by OFSTED.
During Damien’s visit to St. Patrick’s, he met with the Head Teacher, Gary Bevin, and Deputy Headteacher Mrs Blundell before he had a tour of the school’s premises and facilities, and had the opportunity to speak with pupils in classroom.
Speaking about his visit, Damien said:
“Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending St Patrick's Catholic Primary School in Cambridge Ward. I was pleased that the school was performing well and that staff we’re enthusiastic about their role.”
“I spoke with the schools headteacher, Mr Bevin, who is doing an outstanding job, before being shown around the school’s facilities, where I spoke with teachers and assistants.
