Firefighters were called to a fire at a property on Southport Old Road in Formby just after 7.35pm on Wednesday, October 26.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 7.32pm and crews were alerted at 7.33pm. They were on scene at 7.37pm.

Four fire engines attended the incident, which involved the first floor of the property that was well alight.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used main branches and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The used a thermal imaging camera to check for areas of heat. No-one was injured.

Firefighters remained at the scene for around seven hours.
