Alzheimer’s Society will be holding a drop-in volunteer recruitment event to encourage people to sign up and help Sefton residents in need of support.

Side by Side is a new free service that links a volunteer to someone living with dementia to help them get out and about and continue enjoying the activities they love. From joining a local club, going to the football, or just going for a stroll in the park, Alzheimer’s Society wants people with dementia to live the lives they want and deserve, and Side by Side volunteers can help make this possible.

The drop in will be held at Linacre Bridge Community Hub on Tuesday January 30, 10am-12.30pm.

Whether you’re a social butterfly, shopaholic or nature lover, Alzheimer’s Society needs volunteers like you to help people in Sefton who are living with dementia.

The information event is an informal drop-in opportunity for members of the public to come and find out about the different types of volunteering they can get involved in.

Both staff and current volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions that may help you to decide if volunteering is for you or not.

You can volunteer on weekdays, evenings and weekends at various times, either in person or over the phone- so it’s a flexible way to give your time and really make a huge difference to someones life.
