Contractors have started to build the Ice Rink in the gardens outside The Atkinson and work is also progressing on the Christmas Market in Chapel Street.

There will be an ice rink from 1st December to 1st January and with Christmas events and activities throughout the month.


Lining Chapel Street, the Christmas market will add to the festivity of the Yuletide season. Bespoke wooden chalets, named 'The Ainsdale' will be decorated, have sparkling lights and really be a beautiful home for our Christmas traders.

So much for it being a pedestrianised area ? Wooden boxes being lined up all along the footpath,electricity cables lying everywhere,waiting for someone to trip over,all the putrid smells of ovens burning,grease being spilt on the footpaths,loads of litter blowing everywhere,it really really makes you want to walk down Chapel street does'nt it.................NOT !!
