I am delighted to now be able to report back on successfully submitting and securing not only my own ongoing observations and feedback, but that of my many constituents ranging from individual residents and tenants to Businesses and Property Owners into the Sefton Council Local Government Future Supplementary Planning Documents, which shall also be officially recognised as such by the Local Authority.
Having canvassed and undertaken my own consultation within the Local Community including Lord Street and the Promenade especially over the last 3 years, which included an extensive consultation earlier this year 2017 I am grateful to everyone who has taken the time, effort and due consideration to support me in my shared vision to endeavour with achieving true "Classic Resort Town" status. Tonight and with your ongoing support we have reached another milestone in this collective Venture.
Onwards & Upwards!
COMMENTS ON THE APPRAISAL AND RESPONSE:
Public consultation comments received are summarised in italics (Quote Marks) below, with the appropriate response included:
1) "Lord Street surface should stay red and not be black"
RESPONSE: The proposals do not require a Planning Application and so are not under the consideration of the Local Planning Authority but are a Highway Authority Decision.
2) "It would be beneficial for the various Council services with responsibility for the streetscape to work together with the conservation team to develop a code of practice in relation to street surfacing and street furniture within the town centre."
RESPONSE: Agreed and already included within the document under opportunities for enhancement, however whilst conservation advice can be given to other departments, this advice is not statutory and the portfolio decision maker will make a final decision taking account of all available factors.
3) "A number of issues were raised relating to cleaning/ maintenance/ planting/ trees/ future regeneration projects and general public realm aspects."
RESPONSE: Where possible and relating specifically to planning matters these will be taken into account and further investigation and formulation of specific Supplementary Planning Documents.
Please note that following on from this evening's successful proceedings, should anyone still wish to submit any feedback which may also be duly considered and incorporated into Supplementary Planning Documents please get in touch before Tuesday 23rd October 2017 12pm noon either with myself:-
