Conservation re-commences on Lord Street. Many appreciations to the exceptional Property Owners and Management Team for having begun extensive restoration works on their Victorian Verandahs here at the “Wayfarers Arcade” here in the Southport Town Centre. Once again it is a true delight to see another Retail Enterprise improving our local environment for both local residents and visitors to behold.
Having originally raised this matter with the relevant stakeholders back in Summer 2015 during my original Town Audit I am delighted to have the full and ongoing support of another long- established and locally acclaimed Business and set of property owners who also appreciate the need to maintain and preserve our wondrous civic heritage for the benefit of the local community.
Recently observing the initial works which have included the scraping, brushing and repainting of the overhead Structural Framework. Having continued to liaise with the Management Team, an extensive Schedule of Works are due to commence later this Summer, once the weather becomes more clement. This will also include reincorporation of the signature gold leaf floral design along the Horizontal Grating as depicted by the Floral Coins, Laurel Leaves and Stars across this magnificent grand building.
This shall comprise of the entire Building Fascia Frontages and Victorian Verandahs, which shall be undertaking a complete restoration, therefore also addressing the long- term Guttering & Water Flow matter which has previously caused tarnishing of the overhead grating and floral filigree.
In the interim period wok has already taken place to rectify the corrosion above the “Master Barbers Store” neighbouring “Rebecca’s The Jewellers”. As per usual this entailed removal of excess vegetation and detritus, scraping, priming, lacquering and repainting of the Structural Framework.
A special thank you must go to the property owners, their most conscientious Management Team and their dedicated In-House Contractors, including Foreman Mr Peter Hughes for having joined aboard my Community Conservation Campaign, which in turn, continues to provide much welcome positive support and encouragement for other key stakeholders.
Once again it is a true pleasure to see this positive and constructive working now manifesting across the length and breadth of our beloved local high street. This I believe will ultimately lead to further investor confidence in our local seaside Classic Resort town. Onwards & Upwards!

He really does need to stop using big words to try and look impressive, he misuses them and ends up talking nonsense and sounding like a prat. His heart is in the right place and he's a tireless advocate for restoring our town which should be applauded but for goodness sake, speak plain English!

He leeches onto the efforts of others in a bid to make his character look good for the judge in his ongoing court case.
Granted he does a lot of what he does but as he's forbidden to go to work at Barton Park while the case is ongoing he does have a lot of time for relentless self promotion.
