A total of 64 arrests over the weekend and 43 today has taken the total number of arrests to 512 on day 14 of Operation Hunted.

The Chief Constable of Merseyside, Andy Cooke joined officers on their deployments as part of Operation Hunted.

Today marks the beginning of week three of #OpHunted and a concerted effort by teams from across the force has now resulted in over 500 wanted named offenders arrested, including a man in his 50’s, arrested today by Mr Cooke on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

Local policing teams are continuing to share information on their Twitter accounts using the hashtag #OpHunted, to update communities on any arrests as well as encouraging the public to come forward with information.

The operation is aimed at reducing the number of outstanding named offenders on Merseyside wanted for various offences, including those who may have been involved in serious crimes, are linked evidentially to live investigations, or have breached the terms of their release from prison.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of wanted individuals is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC.
