Its not arriva being affected by the strike action its the public. Whilst they stood round striking at offices arriva are saving money on fuel so won't affect days takings as the non use of fuel will compensate for loss of takings. They should use the buses but not take bus fares off people that will affect them more
Of course Arriva are being affected, they are still paying tax and insurance on the vehicles as well as paying all the non striking staff plus all the overheads on buildings etc. The public are only slightly inconvenienced as other carriers probably cheaper are available, if there's 2 or more travelers it will probably be cheaper to use a cab.

No it wouldn't be cheaper when use a bus more than 4 times a day like I do. They'd still pay tax and insurance and over heads and non striking staff as this all would be paid every year even if their was not a strikes on. I was glad to see a 44 running today made life easier to get about. Rather than £5 each time from town to birkdale 4 times a day maybe more as only cost me £56 a month and can jump on off buses all day everyday as many times I like to travel
